Blackwood

About Blackwood

Blackwood is a unique hardwood that is easily worked, stable, long lasting and resilient. It has been used in furniture making since the early days of English settlement and is believed to be one of the finest furniture timbers in the world. The variety of toning in Blackwood ranges from light golden-brown to deep brown, sometimes with a reddish tint and occasionally showing black streaks. This hardwood's individuality is distinguished by the grain. Sometimes it is straight and other times wavy, producing a fiddle back pattern on an open and uniform texture, always with its own natural lustre.
